What are my responsibilities as a Parent of a Competition Team Member?

  • Payment of all fees by the scheduled due dates

  • Purchasing needed accessories for the Competition Performance

  • Making sure your child arrives at each practice on time, and ready to learn

  • Encouraging and monitoring practice at home between scheduled team practices

  • Completion of competition application and waiver forms by the scheduled due date

  • Completion of sports physical and birth certificate requirement by the scheduled due date

What is the cost for my child to join the Competition Team?

The cost is $275 for all Competition Team Members.  Fees may be paid in installments.  Late fees of $10 per week apply to any fees not completed by the final installment date.  Discounts are available for multiple siblings (within the same household).  The cost includes fees for Camp Thunderettes in June.

Please make sure your child arrives early, and is prepared for a rigorous practice. Here's how you can help your child prepare for her important upcoming practices:

  • Designate a safe area in your home, and using the competition music provided to you via e-mail, allow her to perform her entire routine in front of an audience.

  • Make note of any areas where she is unsure of choreography so that they can be reviewed for clarity before practice begins.

  • Make sure she is well rested and has a nutritious breakfast.

  • Make sure she brings a labeled water bottle to practice.

  • Make sure she is appropriately dressed for practice and is dressed suitably for both indoor and outdoor practice time.

  • Make sure she arrives to practice early, so that time is allowed for turning in forms and payments, reviewing choreography segments, questions for the Coach, etc.

Please note:  Attendance for this team is extremely important.  Your child should arrive to all practices no later than ten minutes prior to the start times.

Attendance Policy

Practice on the following dates are Mandatory for all Team Members: _____________________

Please plan your schedules accordingly.

Practice locations are provided to registered parents via e-mail.

Study Hall Sessions:

There may be study hall practice sessions implemented (which are not mandatory) that can assist team members who have missed any practices by helping them to catch up to the group.  Team Members with solid attendance are encouraged to attend these sessions as well in order to reinforce their knowledge.  It is not suggested that these sessions be used as the sole method of bringing your child up to speed with the routine.  If your child has missed more than five practices at any time throughout the season, she should also attempt to arrive a few minutes early, and/or remain a few minutes after practice time for assistance at the discretion of her Coaches.

It is expected that throughout the season, all Team Members are maintaining healthy diets, hydrating regularly, practicing their routines, and completing strength and endurance excercises at home.

Community Service

The Team will participate in a community service project this season.  In November, the Team will participate in an event which acknowledges our Veterans.

State Competition

Participation in both IRCA competitions provides an opportunity for Teams who have been awarded a first-place trophy at either event to receive a bid to compete at the IRCA State Competition held later in the year.  If one or both of our Teams receive a qualifying bid for the State Competition, they will have a third opportunity to perform their routine in hopes of becoming State Champions.  If we receive a bid and accept the offer to attend the State Competition, it would require our parents and Team Members to commit to a few additional practice sessions, and possibly incur additional fees.  Should we receive a bid to the State Competition, we will do our very best, as always, to keep any needed fees at a minimum, and to inform parents of any needed fees as far in advance as possible.

Competition Performance Dates and Locations:

TBA

Please note:  There are spectator fees for each competition which average $12 per person.
